In the early morning, you’ll be picked up from your hotel in Arusha and driven to Lake Manyara National Park. This park stretches along the northwest shore of Lake Manyara, nestled in the Great Rift Valley. It’s renowned for its flamingos, pelicans, and cormorants, and is a haven for bird enthusiasts with over a hundred migratory and resident bird species.
In addition to its avian treasures, the park offers opportunities to see “Big Game.” With some luck, you might spot elephants in the wooded areas or even catch a glimpse of the park’s famous tree-climbing lions.
Lake Manyara National Park is particularly notable for its unique tree-climbing lions—a behavior once thought to be exclusive to this park. The park’s forested regions are also home to baboons and vervet monkeys. In the open spaces, giraffes munch on fresh leaves, while various antelopes graze on the lush vegetation.
After enjoying a picnic lunch, you’ll have more time for game and wildlife viewing before returning to Arusha.
This concludes your memorable Lake Manyara day trip.
